Soft Voiles with frills! Sewing Patterns & Finished Garment Line

New sewing patterns and new finished garment line
Slip Dress shown in fabrics from my Haven's Edge Collection

I have been so very busy with new projects and thought I'd share. I am loving the cotton voiles we are doing and they wash and wear so beautifully.... I also discovered a 'ruffle' foot, but if you don't have one it's easy to use a long loose stitch when sewing strips of voile - they automatically gather up beautifully. Fun fun and easy to do.
So here's a quick glimpse of a few of the patterns. Also available as finished garments by the way. See our new temporary etsy store. We've been slammed with finished garment orders and need a more automated system with more choices.

In the meantime take a peek and let us know if you like what you see as sewing patterns. In the meantime if you'd like a garment for you, visit my etsy store, melpomeneshop.

We've had reorder after reorder, so you should be finding them in your local quilt and fabric boutiques. We don't sell to mass market stores like Joann's, Hancocks or Walmart, so please go to your specialty fabric shop in your area! Or call us and we will find a retailer for you.

I am designing a whole new range of patterns which are in the testing stages right now! All coming back with the big 'approved' stamp from my lovely pattern testers. I need these lovely ladies let me tell ya... or you know me I go off on a tangent! Anyhoo, they are lovely and oh so sweet to make - for baby, toddlers and girls. Of course my girls age range grows as Amelia grows, she's 10 in June... sheeesh! New patterns will be available later this spring for ordering.

They will be debuting in May at the International Quilt show in Kansas City, so mark your dates retailers, or connect with your fabulous Westminster Fiber / FreeSpiritFabric rep who carries the patterns too!

I send you love and kisses and happy creating this pretty spring!

Blissful wallpaper

Wallpaper images via blissful blog
Wallpaper is so beautiful. I have always been afraid of using it. It's too much of a commitment for me.  A paint color is an easy change, but wallpaper... yikes. It's like a tatoo, well not completely but it's going to be there for a bit, yes?
Thanks to a lovely little blog, blissfulb I found these lovely images to remind me of how others are much braver than I.
Although there may be ways to use wallpaper on screens, stairs, boards that can be taken down! Hmmm. I shall explore this again.
In the meantime, I should be designing wallpaper don't you think? A small wallpaper manufacturer would be superb, not too big, and local is a yes! Hallo out there? Do you hear me WP makers, designer for hire. hahah. Wow I am brash today!
