Happy Orange Halloween

If people had genuine courage, they'd wear their costumers everyday of the year, not just on Halloween.

FORTINY

Introducing Fortiny. a new quilt fabric collection by me.

History, culture and a magical place converge in this fabric group. I think the scale is unpredictable for me ~ and it's designed to blend. There are two distinct color palettes - inspired by the mountains and African coastal gardens by the sea.

My great Aunty Fortiny lives in such a place where, in fact two oceans meet and are punctuated with an enormous bracket of mountains. This historical place, since the early 1900s, is flavored by two unique vegetation patterns - from the steep mountainous plains; and amazing coastal plumage along the seashore. Inspired to create a palette representing both, I called one Oasis and the other palette, Train Window.

Beautiful aunty Fortiny has spent her life in Africa, she has seen the world and is an amazing story teller. She now resides as the oldest of her family in a quiet and astounding village by the sea. Sadly, Aunty has become blind and can not see the beauty that surrounds her, but she valiantly expresses her opinion and loudly maintains, rightly so, her position as matriarch of our lovely family. It is her spirit and celebration of the past, in this old place that I created a fabric collection. I hope it inspires a quilt or two for your collection.

Fortiny is debuting at International Quilt Market

My aunt Jan, who's too young to be my aunt, is also a lovely grandma to a sweet little girl called Riley! Great name right? Well Riley is 6 and going to school and her wonderful grandma Jan made her dresses out of my fabrics! They are gorgeous and thought I'd share them with you.
Happy Birthday Riley!

Which one to choose?

I am in Atlanta this weekend at the Gift show! Cid Pear is in the CR Gibson showroom, and my holiday ornaments are in the Dept56 {Enesco} showroom. So I'll be visiting and oohing at the displays. Unfortunately due to time constraints I can't be in the temporaries with my clothing and jewelry collection, but we are hosting an intimate wine party on Friday evening in Atlanta at a gorgeous BandB downtown. Just 6 minutes from the mart! If you are around then email Aimee at info@tinagivens.com and we'll give you all the details. The new SS13-1 collection and of course the Resort voile collection~. We are showing voile and linen pieces that can ship immediately or book them for later ship dates. Jewelry is always available. See some of the pics above we just took in Florida. Are they not gorgeous?! That pink geode is my favorite piece right now! Hanging off a beautiful vintage chain we found on our travels.

So come join us, and in the meantime, I'll see some of you in the showrooms with my other favorite products!!!

ELLIE DRESS: Featuring Star Flakes & Glitter fabric collection

New linen collection is here

Love this dress. The BLOSSOM dress is adorable! I love this dress. It has my signature bell shape and wide oval neckline but one one side is an opening as shown. Now guess which is the front, and which is the back? WRONG!

It's neither. You can wear the opening at the back or the front! Shown with the LUCILLE slip dress. (Available in pink, celadon green or tangerine). Spring 2013. Watch for more of the line sneek peaks!

Necklaces: Vintage baroque pearl & pink jade rosary.

Tumblr

Well my dears. As you may or may not know, I fell in love with the whole PINTEREST thing. It is simply glorious for me to find imagery and see what others pin and pin away! At first I thought it was a waste of time but with my ongoing schedule of rethinking my illustration, fabrics, apparel and more I find the need to relook at this saved imagery and find inspiration. When I am noy traveling to fun places I journey into my online resources for inspiration!
Well my ravels have now led me to tumblr... which I always stayed away from because I felt the whole blogging thing was enough. But oh my! I now have a tumblr blog called THE MELPOMENE PROJECT... And it's so fun. Right now I have been so random but take a look and let me know if you like it.  HERE'S THE LINK!

NEW Website tinagivens.com

TG-A6006 Fortiny Tote & Handbag
So it's official, the new site is up. It's www.tinagivens.com and I am thrilled with it. All the sewing patterns are there and you can even purchase them. If you are a store you can purchase them in our WHOLESALE PATTERN SHOP module. You do need a password which we can email to you. Watch for your TG newsletter coming soon.
If you're a consumer and would like to find my patterns, we have cleverly created our own easy PATTERN SHOP. As some of you know, I am a 'pleaser', hahaha so I want you to be happy. No, ecstatic at our products and our customer service. So try us out I think you're gonna love it.

I also have 4 galleries including licensing, textile and illustration, and the sewing patterns. So you can get a glimpse of my work whether for surface design, product design and more. The site is as always a working site, so the intention is to update all of the time, post specials and great store giveaways. We plan on gifting lots, and so very happy to be live and 'looking good'.

PS The site is a flash based site so will only work on your computers. We're working to create our very own mobile site for easy access. We use PayPal for now, which I have found a great worldwide payment option; and it is the safest and most secure.

Let me know what you think, I can't wait!
